VP of Engineering

Bright is pioneering the use of AI and simulations in corporate L&D. With that mission comes high standards for performance, security, latency, and accuracy. The VP of Engineering will lead the management of Bright's full tech stack, including performance and cost optimization for: hosting, custom LLM development, transcription models, mobile app deployment, and much more. We are looking for the next wave of hires interested in joining a fast-growing software company. How You'll Spend Your Day:

Designing, documenting, and managing Bright's tech strategy to ensure the highest levels of uptime, performance, and security

Partnering with our Product Leader to shape Bright's fast moving AI-powered product suite

Managing and advising Bright's global team of engineers throughout the scoping, code development, and release processes

Participating in detailed code planning + reviews to ensure optimization of all features and data management

Working closely with Director of Quality to ensure full product and code documentation + end-to-end testing for all releases

Reporting to the Bright Board of Directors on technology performance and roadmap

Travel: Up to 20% depending on demand; would be for targeted visits during key customer milestones (not the Monday-Thursday consulting travel model!)
Qualifications:

10+ years experience managing an AI digital product (preferably in a B2B and/or Edtech software company)

Experience leading a team in high-pace, startup environments

Proven track record of delivering high scalability / high reliability software with a global user base

Compensation + Benefits:

$180k - $210k base

20 - 40% annual performance bonus eligibility
